What happens to aviation in 2025?

What will be the impact of SAS leaving Star Alliance and joining SkyTeam? Will Ryanair expand further when the flight tax is removed?  Should we expect Kastrup and Gardermoen to surpass Arlanda? As in previous years, the industry faces numerous challenges, including pilot and aircraft shortages, sustainability concerns, ticket prices, economic conditions, and a weak currency. What happens now that BRA and Bromma are phasing out their domestic services? Will SAS be able to fully replace?

At our hearing, we will present findings from our major 2024 travel survey, conducted in collaboration with Nordic Bench.

What happens with leisure travel in 2025?

According to many, the travel industry—especially leisure travel—is heading toward a brighter future. Air travel tax will be abolished this summer, inflation is becoming a thing of the past, interest rates are falling, unemployment is expected to decrease, and Sweden's GDP is set to rise. Many believe that this upcoming economic boom will encourage more people to travel next year. How well-prepared are the major charter companies for this?

However, there are still clouds on the travel horizon, such as protests against over-tourism in Spain, extreme heat in Greece, staff and aircraft shortages, and Russia's ongoing war of aggression against Ukraine. Where will we choose to travel in these troubled times? And what will we expect from our vacations? These are some of the questions we will explore.
