The Region of Crete welcomes its visitors in an authentic landscape, where dominates the deep blue of the sea along with the colors of the Cretan land and a picturesque, unexplored mainland carrying indelible the imprint of History and its ancient civilizations.
With an area of 8,000 km2, Crete is the largest island in Greece and the fifth largest island in the Mediterranean Sea. Thanks to its geographical location, Crete has a unique climate and a rich and rare biodiversity.

Crete won the International Award "Crete. European Region of Gastronomy 2026" from the International Institute of Gastronomy, Culture, Arts & Tourism (IGCAT).
